Bike and waterfall

There is a sunny day, I ride with my bike along to the river near Gölcük and see and hear of sounds of waterfalls which has big amount of sping water coming from Samanlı mountains.

I was walking in a track with my camera. There are many trees two sides of the footpath. Suddenly I saw two squirrels ahead of me. They afraid from me and climbed a poplar tree. They were waiting me to pass through there...

Seaside

The Roman tomb

This tomb was find many years ago when a road working. It belong to a roman general lived in 2nd century A.D.

Earthquake, don't forget !

We had lived the very big Earthquake (Magnitude 7.4 ) in 1999 in Gölcük. We lost many lives. 10 years past.
Don't forget ;'' Earthqueke do not kill, wrong constructed buildings kill us.''

Saraylı Village

Saraylı is one of the biggest villages of Gölcük and owner of the remains from Roman era. The village is also very rich for the work of arts from Ottoman era. The documents showed that the first settler of the region were from “Yuruk Clan.” The houses which have a typical architecture and the tombstones with epitaphs are outstanding. The very old plane tree in the center of the village´s market, is a witness of those rested under its shadow and reminds the past to the visitors.

Kerpe, Black Sea coast

Kerpe is a small town in the coast of Black Sea . The summer population increases depending on in tourism. Bay of Kerpe is protected from north winds has fine sands and the shallow water. Kerpe's north coast due to strong black sea winds creates rocky coves. Some people are jumping into the sea from this high rock!

Car Carrier

There is a car factory -Ford- in my city. A car carrier is waiting for loading cars by the factory pier.

Skywatch Friday

I took this photo in sunset from hills about 500 mtrs hight. You can see gulf of İzmit far away.

Refinery skywatch

There is a ugly refinery(always smoky) at the coast Gulf of İzmit. My region is a big industrial area of Turkey for this reason is the most populatoin of the country.

What photo are they taking ?

These photo club mates are taking this jellyfish below. This colorful creature comes from other sea. There were not any jellyfish like this but now there are a lot in Marmara sea(inland sea) because of sea pollution.

Old things

This shot is from a village's house garden. The old wooden wheel and big earthenware jar are used many years ago. The old jar used for stored some olive oil. Nowadays they are idle in a garden arrangement.

Old Beech tree

I think this is one of the largest and oldest forest tree in my town. I don't know its age but It must be many century. It is near the Kirazdere river which feed the Kirazdere(Yuvacık) Dam. We supply fresh water from this dam. Click on photo to see details. It is spectacular, isn't it?

A rower

Wilhelm's white villa and a rower

When Hereke carpets became popular, entartaining guests in the huts wasn't suitable. They decided to build a villa. Before the visit of Wilhelm II the German Emperor in 1898, the villa was built in Abdülhamit's palace in three weeks in 1894. It was transported in seperate pieces by sea and constructed in a night.

This sunday we went to the hill for taking photos, we have done hard job to capture nice photos!
