Earthquake, don't forget !
We had lived the very big Earthquake (Magnitude 7.4 ) in 1999 in Gölcük. We lost many lives. 10 years past.

Saraylı Village
Saraylı is one of the biggest villages of Gölcük and owner of the remains from Roman era. The village is also very rich for the work of arts from Ottoman era. The documents showed that the first settler of the region were from “Yuruk Clan.” The houses which have a typical architecture and the tombstones with epitaphs are outstanding. The very old plane tree in the center of the village´s market, is a witness of those rested under its shadow and reminds the past to the visitors.

The Moving Villa
Our first president Atatürk departs from İstanbul for Bursa in 29th August 1929. While sailing through the open sea of Yalova; he figures out the plane tree along the shore which had seduced him a lot he makes the yacht stopped, before landing by boat. He sits under the plane tree. Atatürk, having been impressed by the plane tree, wants a small house to be built under that. 22 days consturaction of a wooden two floored house has been completed in 12th September 1929. A year later, in 1930, Atatürk had been told that a branch of the tree had been reached at the house and had to be cut. Then, Atatürk, orders the house to be moved a bit, instead of the branch be pruned.
In 8th August 1930, moving operations had been started. The Villa had been moved by 4.80 meters towards east within 3 days and has been called Yürüyen Köşk since than...
Atatürk had often visited the Yürüyen köşk ( The Moving Villa) in 1930 - 1937 ...

Mirror in the Stone cafe (Taş Kahve)
This old cafe has high ceiling, windows and old mirrors. Martin has nests on the ceiling. Cafe is also famous with toast named ayvalik( Ayvalık Tostu) in the Cunda island.

Kerpe, Black Sea coast
Kerpe is a small town in the coast of Black Sea . The summer population increases depending on in tourism. Bay of Kerpe is protected from north winds has fine sands and the shallow water. Kerpe's north coast due to strong black sea winds creates rocky coves. Some people are jumping into the sea from this high rock!
