Saraylı is one of the biggest villages of Gölcük and owner of the remains from Roman era. The village is also very rich for the work of arts from Ottoman era. The documents showed that the first settler of the region were from “Yuruk Clan.” The houses which have a typical architecture and the tombstones with epitaphs are outstanding. The very old plane tree in the center of the village´s market, is a witness of those rested under its shadow and reminds the past to the visitors.

ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent and fascinating old tree! If only it could talk, I'm sure it would have many interesting stories to tell!
ReplyDeleteJust an observation: how come it's mostly men who loaf around these village centers? ;)
